Knowledge Management

Knowledge Management (KM) Philosophy

Knowledge Management (KM) comprises a range of practices used by organizations to identify, create, represent, and distribute knowledge. It involves not only software development and application implementation, but also understanding organization’s business needs.

The role of the Knowledge Management program is to support growing EH&S business activities by effectively implementing knowledge management process and strategy in collecting and distributing information related to environmental protection and health risk reduction.  Getting the right information at the right time in planning and decision-making is essential in supporting the mission and purposes of the department.

The goals of the Knowledge Management program are to apply scientific knowledge and advanced engineering technology to environmental risk and safety problems concerned with regulatory compliance, improve the usability and usefulness of environmental health resources and information, and assist EH&S regulatory compliance activities.
